From Baltimore to Maybe Pensacola- Tallahassee Florida Tuesday Looks Like Catholic Bishop Appointment Day- Updated

Whispers is telling us to be on the Watch Out for Roman Noon tomorrow ( the wee hours of dawn for us Americans) when a significant appointment will be accounced . It appears that the new Archbishop of Baltimore , the historic Mother Archdiocese for the American Church, is to be picked and we have a name. See Son of Hickey, Heir of Carroll -- Bishop Lori Tipped for Baltimore

On another front we have rumblings out of Florida. Thomas Pringle , who has his ear close to the ground on these things, on his twitter says " Hearing that there will be some kind of announcement in the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee from multiple sources."

The See of Pensacola- Tallahassee has been Vacant since March 11, 2011 and the longest with a vacancyon the list of current vacant See's in the USA. The former Bishop was Bishop John Huston Ricard, S.S.J. So we shall what develops down there tomorrow.

Update-!! We haave just not two Bishop but 3 APPOINTED ( Actually 4 if we count Canada which is also in the news)

As Rocco reports:

At Roman Noon, the Pope:
has, as
reported here last night, named Bishop William Lori of Bridgeport as the 16th archbishop of Baltimore;

tapped Msgr David Malloy -- a priest of Milwaukee and, from 2005 until last June, General Secretary of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops -- as bishop of Rockford, succeeding Bishop Thomas Doran, who reached the retirement age of 75 in February 2011;

and appointed Fr Gregory Parkes, 48, vicar-general of Orlando, as bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee, succeeding Bishop John Ricard SSJ, who took early retirement in February 2011 following a stroke. Ordained in 1999, Parkes becomes the first priest of the Disney diocese to be raised to the episcopacy.

....

There was also HUGE news North of the Border in Montreal on the Bishop Front

And to the North, in a shocking move, B16 has appointed Auxiliary Bishop Christian Lepine of Montreal -- only named a bishop last June -- as the next archbishop of Francophone Canada's premier church, traditionally a cardinalatial see. He succeeds Cardinal Jean-Claude Turcotte, who reached the retirement age last summer....

Busy morning.
